(Denver, Colorado) —  “Hamas is in crisis,” says the former head of IDF operations.

“Major General (res.) Israel Ziv says movement has got itself into “conundrum” since the Gaza op started, with hardly any significant accomplishments, adds that “they are fighting now because they’re not sure they’ll get a second chance,” reports Ynet News.

Unconfirmed reports out of Israel say the IDF has now identified and destroyed 85% of the Hamas terror tunnels.

Now comes word of a 72-hour cease fire. Will it hold? We shall see.

Here’s what we know so far:

“Israel and Hamas have agreed to a 72-hour humanitarian ceasefire beginning Friday, during which time there will be negotiations on a more durable truce in the 24-day-old Gaza war, the United States and United Nations announced Thursday,” reports the Associated Press. “The announcement came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu…

This is a time for Christians to show solidarity with Israel as she faces an onslaught of terrorism. It’s also a time to show compassion towards Palestinians who are being crushed by Hamas. A few thoughts to consider.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

HolyBible(Denver, Colorado) — This is Day #24 of the Gaza war. Is the Church doing enough to love the people who are suffering in the epicenter, in obedience to the Scriptures?

Now more than ever, is it vital for Christian leaders and lay people to speak out in solidarity with Israel — and even go visit Israel soon — as Jews and Arabs defend themselves against Radical Islam. Day after day, Israel is facing not only an onslaught of terrorism but an evil double-standard. Israeli citizens have absorbed more than 2,800 rocket attacks and numerous terror squads who have come from the Gaza Strip to murder innocent men, women and children. Yet rather than receive encouragement from world democracies who see a fellow democracy under attack, much of the world is turning against Israel. Anti-Semitic attacks are skyrocketing, especially in Europe. Israel is being condemned at the U.N., blasted by world leaders, and even pressured by our President and…

A day is a day.

Ray Comfort's Daily Evidence

Did God create the whole universe, including the original plants, animals, and first two people (Adam and Eve) in six literal 24-hour days? Or did creation take place over millions of years?

Everywhere else in the Old Testament, when the Hebrew word for “day” (yom) appears with “evening” or “morning” or is modified by a number (e.g., “sixth day” or “five days”), it always means a 24-hour day.

There is no biblical or scientific reason to be ashamed of believing in a recent six-day creation. God has spoken clearly and truthfully. Will you trust His Word over the arrogant claims of sinful men? By Dr. Terry Mortenson, Answers in Genesis

Genesis 1:5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Too many Christians are dismissing all Palestinians as terrorists. This is unfair & unbiblical. Meet a true Palestinian moderate: Salam Fayyad.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

aspen-friedmanFayyadNOTE: I originally posted this column on July 9th, but I am reposting it because I am hoping more Christians will read and consider it. I’m concerned that far too many Christians who love Israel and the Jewish people are dismissing all Palestinians as terrorists and radicals and extremists. This is unfair and unbiblical. Indeed, there are true moderates among the Palestinians we need to get to know and appreciate and hear their perspective on what is happening.

As I watch the on-going current crisis, I am deeply concerned for Israeli civilians, especially those who live in the south. But my also heart breaks for the Palestinians, especially those who live in Gaza.

Both sides are suffering. Both sides are feeling pain. And as a follower of Jesus Christ, I want to find ways that Christians can bless and care for and show compassion to both sides.

At the same time I admit I find myself asking…

Atheist George Carlin.

Ray Comfort's Daily Evidence

Atheist George Carlin (who passed into eternity in 2008) said, “But I want you to know something, this is sincere, I want you to know, when it comes to believing in God, I really tried. I really, really tried. I tried to believe that there is a God, who created each of us in His own image and likeness, loves us very much, and keeps a close eye on things. I really tried to believe that, but I gotta tell you, the longer you live, the more you look around, the more you realize, something is…wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption… Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.”

When an atheist rejects Genesis 1 (about creation), he automatically rejects Genesis 3 (about the “Fall” of mankind). God created all things…

“Son of Hamas” speaks out against the radical Islamic terror group of which he was once a top operative. Calls Hamas a “cancer” that “worships death.” Video of CNN interview. Audio of radio interview.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, interviewed on July 24th on CNN. Mosab Hassan Yousef, interviewed on July 24th on CNN.

UPDATED: Mosab Hassan Yousef is the eldest son of one of the founders of Hamas, Sheik Hassan Yousef, the spiritual leader of the organization on the West Bank.

As a youth, Mosab was arrested by the Israelis for involvement in terrorism.

In prison, he came to realize the true evil of Hamas.

In time, he renounced Islam, chose to become a follower of Jesus, and became a double agent for the Israeli secret services (Shin Bet) working to thwart Hamas terror attacks.

Later, he emigrated to the United States where he wrote a best-selling book, “Son of Hamas,” warning about the dangerous of Hamas and telling his own journey out of Radical Islam.

Now, with Hamas engaged in a brutal, deadly war with Israel, Mosab — a remarkably courageous young man — is again speaking out against the radical Islamic terror group of which he used to…

Boanerges and consolation.

Ray Comfort's Daily Evidence

“Secure sinners must hear the thundering of Mount Sinai before we bring them to Mount Zion. Every minister should be a Boanerges, a son of thunder, as well as Barnabas, a son of consolation.” George Whitefield

Exodus 20:18 Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

USA and Iran Partnering in Iraq? 5 questions answered – #4

Hormoz Shariat

4.  How the events in Iraq will impact His Kingdom?christian-persecution

  1. Christians in Iraq and Syria have been persecuted and have been leaving as refugees.
  2. Under ISIS, the killing and persecution of Christians will dramatically increase. It has already started and there will be a mass exodus of Christians.
  3. The brutality of ISIS will cause millions of Muslims to have an objective look at Islam. Many of them will come to reject Islam and become open to the message of the Gospel. This is what happened in Iran. Millions of Syrian refugees have seen the brutality of Islamist “freedom fighters” of ISIS. Many of them are coming to Christ in refugee camps in Turkey.

“What have I done?”

Ray Comfort's Daily Evidence

See Jeremiah 8:12. This gives a picture of true contrition. Those who recognize how abominable their sin is in God’s eyes will be broken and will humbly say, “What have I done?” (see v. 6). While modern evangelism often goes to great lengths to avoid even hinting at “shame,” note that shame is a correct response to sinning against a holy God. See also James 4:9,10.

Jeremiah 8:12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; In the time of their punishment They shall be cast down, says the Lord.

GAZA WAR UPDATE, Day #21: Obama calls Netanyahu to demand “immediate” cease-fire. Kerry angers Israeli, Palestinian & Egyptian leaders. Turkey turns hostile.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

Secretary of State John Kerry has managed to anger U.S. allies in the Mideast. Secretary of State John Kerry has managed to anger U.S. allies in the Mideast.

(Washington, D.C.) — The most dramatic developments of the weekend in the Gaza war were these:

  1. President Obama’s call to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday to demand an “immediate” ceasefire, even though Israeli leaders don’t feel they are yet finished neutralizing the threat posed by Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza.
  2. Secretary John Kerry’s disastrous efforts at creating a cease-fire, which actually managed to anger Palestinian, Egyptian and Israeli leaders all at once.
  3. Turkey’s brutally anti-Semitic language towards Israel and the Jewish people which has reached a dangerous new low.

First, President Obama. An immediate and unconditional ceasefire ending Israel’s assault on Hamas is a ‘clear strategic imperative’ to Israel, U.S. President Barack Obama told Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu in a phone call on Sunday,” reported the Jerusalem Post. ” While the conversation focused on…
